Dr. Simiyu Benjamin Nyongesa, BDS, MScD- Endodontics (Philippines)

About the Course Coordinator

  • Simiyu is one of the few Endodontists practising in Kenya and East Africa. He completed his master’s degree program with a specialization in Endodontics at the University of the East, Philippines (2019). He earned his BDS degree in 2010 at the University of Nairobi, Kenya.
  • Simiyu has received numerous international awards including the 2010 David B. Scott Fellowship from the International Association of Dental Research (IADR) and the 2019 University of the East Presidential award: Certificate of Recognition for exemplary performance in inter-school competitions, Manila Philippines.
  • He continues to lecture at the University of Nairobi, School of Dental Sciences, and has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals nationally and internationally.
  • His major areas of scientific research interest include: Regenerative endodontics and vital pulp therapy, Endodontic Microsurgery,, Endodontic therapy outcome and epidemiology, Endodontic materials and applications, Root canal morphology, instruments, and materials science.
  • Since 2012, Dr. Simiyu is a Reviewer for the Journal of Medical and Health Sciences Research (USA) and Indian Journal of Dental Research (India)
  • He maintains a private practice limited to microscopic Endodontics in Nairobi, Kenya.

Message from the Course Coordinator

From diagnosis to anatomic shaping and obturation of the root canal – everything is changing. Are you worried about a fractured file in the root canal, perforation, or other complications without knowing how to manage them? Are you in dire need to update your knowledge on the latest technologies in Endodontics etc? Then our Advanced Endodontic Training (AET) course is for you. Endodontics is the backbone of our day-to-day dental practice. Securing the skills of conveying modern-day and safe endodontic procedures are the fundamental goals of Dental Skills Academy (DSA). Dental Aptitude College is working hard to enhance the quality of Continuing Dental Education in Endodontics. Our flagship programme in this effort is the 3-month Advanced Endodontic Training (AET) Programme. The AET Programme provides that distinct venue for the academy to bring together faculty, alumni, course participants, and the dental community at large. Participants will get further technical support and educational materials on current endodontics through online resources exclusively available for our alumni who signed up for this course. If we are effective in saving teeth in this way, then we will be fruitful in expanding our mission of excellence.
