This course will take you from zero to the hero of the following orthodontic topics:
Definitions and divisions of orthodontics, classifications of malocclusions, growth and Development in the craniofacial region and detailed steps for orthodontic patient examination.

Unit 1: Introduction to orthodontics. Definitions and divisions
• Andrews six keys of normal occlusion. Positions of the mandible. Equilibrium theory
• Classification of malocclusion
• Prevalence of malocclusion. Aetiology of malocclusion
• Benefits and risks of orthodontic treatment
Unit 2: The orthodontic patient examination
• Patient examination.
• Medical and Dental history

Unit 3: Development of the dentition
• Postnatal Development of the dentition. Development of the jaws. Deciduous dentition
