Module 5: Non-surgical Endodontic Retreatment
It is universally accepted that a natural tooth with a good prognosis is a superior choice for loss and replacement.
Technical and scientific advances in endodontics have resulted in the retention of millions of teeth that would otherwise be lost.
The attendee of this program will develop skills in Non-surgical root canal retreatment, which has become a routine procedure in modern dentistry.
Course topics
Unit 1: Coronal Disassembly and Post Removal Techniques
Unit 2: Gutta-Percha Removal Technique in 1 Second using a NEW 5-in-1 Device
Unit 3: Managing Solid Core Obturators
Unit 4: Hands-on training on Non-surgical root canal retreatment
Module 6: Managing Brocken Instruments and other Iatrogenic Endodontic Events
An iatrogenic event is defined as a procedure “induced unintentionally by a physician or surgeon.”
Although iatrogenic accidents cannot be prevented with absolute certainty, their occurrences can be significantly reduced with the “Three Ts”: Training, Technique, and Technology.
Instrument breakage remains one of the most frustrating and tragic iatrogenic endodontic events that we face in our daily practices.
The participants, after the course, will be able to:
• Remove separated instruments from canals via Microsonic Technique: using the NEWEST Ultra-X Device and ultrasonic tips,
• Make the best decision while managing separated instruments,
• Manage Sodium Hypochlorite accidents,
• Manage ledges,
• Manage perforations.
Course topics
Unit 1: Management of Canal Impediments: Ledge management
Unit 2: Repair of Perforations. Sodium Hypochlorite accident management
Unit 3: Easy and predictable broken file removal.
Unit 4: Hands-on training on the Removal of broken instruments
Module 7: Microscopic Apical Surgery, Apicoectomy in Endodontics
Although non-surgical endodontic treatment is a highly predictable option in most cases, surgery may be indicated for teeth with persistent periradicular pathosis that have not responded to non-surgical approaches.
The Participants of this program will develop surgical root canal retreatment and apicectomy skills.
Course topics
Unit 1: Indications and success of surgical re-endodontic treatments.
Unit 2: Flap design and suturing techniques for apical surgery.
Unit 3: Bioactive sealers for orthograde & retrograde filling.
Unit 4: Hands-on Surgical training on apicoectomy (Root-end surgery)
Frequently asked questions
What makes Advanced Endodontic Training (AET) a good career choice?
No confidence in endodontics or molar endodontics? Unable to locate the
canal? Unsure if there is an extra canal? Are you worried when it comes to
molar endo? Worried about a fractured file, perforation, or other complications
without knowing how to manage them? Unsure of obturation and its long-term
success? Problems in access cavity? Cannot understand the art and science
of negotiating simple and complex root canal anatomy? Do u want to train
on the predictable endodontic outcome and long-term endodontic success?
Then this course is for you.
